Alena Hron has had a remarkable impact on the Czech music scene and beyond. She has made history as the first woman to serve as Chief Conductor in the Czech Republic, currently in her second season leading the South Czech Philharmonic (Jihočeská filharmonie). She is also the recipient of the prestigious 2024-26 TAKI ALSOP Fellowship, which offers intensive mentorship and coaching from Marin Alsop. She made her US debut in the summer of 2024, conducting the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at the Ravinia Festival alongside Alsop.

In addition to her commitments with the South Czech Philharmonic, Alena's 2025/26 guest conducting schedule includes special concerts with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam, as well as debuts with Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire, Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra, MDR Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra at the Gewandhaus, Polish National Radio Symphony in Katowice, and Kyoto Symphony Orchestra in Japan. At home, she returns to the Prague Symphony Orchestra and the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra,among others.

Alena Hron had her major break at the Prague Spring Music Festival in 2024 conducting the Prague Symphony Orchestra in a program featuring Prokofiev, Jan Novák and Respighi. Her debut met with critical acclaim, hailed by several major news outlets as triumphant. “A fundamental part of [Prague Symphony’s] exceptionally motivated and excellent playing clearly needs to be attributed to the conductor: subtle, yet able to inspire, lead and command.” (KlasikaPlus). Following this success, she formed a regular relationship with the orchestra, having been immediately re-invited for subscription concerts. A subscription debut with the Brno Philharmonic followed in 24/25 and Hron also enjoys a partnership with several regional Czech orchestras.
